904L Stainless Steel Buttweld Fittings are a low carbon, high-alloy austenitic stainless steel that contains about 20% chromium, 25% nickel, 4.5% molybdenum, and copper is added. The presence of these metals improves the corrosion resistance in acidic media. It has a tensile strength of 490 MPa, yield strength of 220 MPa, and good elongation of about 35%. The fittings retain strength and ductility at elevated temperatures and are thus suitable for harsh service conditions. 904L is not magnetic and has high weldability, toughness, and formability for use in severe industrial applications.
