Stainless Steel 316H Buttweld Fittings have 16–18% chrome, 10–14% nickel, 2–3% molybdenum, and increased carbon levels (0.04-0.10%) compared to regular 316. The improved carbon content enhances high-temperature strength along with creep resistance. The tensile strength is around 515–585 MPa with a 205 MPa yield strength and good ductility. These fittings have mechanical strength in temperatures over 500°C and are thus fit for elevated temperature pressure systems. Their resistance to corrosion is still comparable to other 316 types, but with the additional advantage of being more suitable for thermal applications, particularly where heat exposure is anticipated for an extended period of time.
