Stainless Steel 316 Pipe Fittings consist of 16–18% Chromium, 10–14% Nickel, 2–3% Molybdenum, up to 2% Manganese, 1% Silicon, 0.08% Carbon, 0.045% Phosphorus, and 0.03% Sulfur, with trace elements. The content of molybdenum greatly enhances resistance to pitting corrosion, acids, and chlorides. The fittings provide tensile strength of 515 MPa, yield strength of 205 MPa, and elongation of 40%, with a Brinell hardness of 217 HB. These values ensure good mechanical stability as well as wear resistance, and therefore SS 316 fittings are apt for long-term usage under corrosive conditions.
