Harry Fittings produces and distributes Stainless Steel 316/316L forged fittings from Houston, USA, providing unequalled resistance against chlorides and acidic media. These fittings are perfect for uses that demand corrosion resistance, formability, and welding performance. The low-carbon version, 316L, has improved weldability and reduces the risk of intergranular corrosion. Produced according to ASTM A182 standards, Harry Fittings makes sure each piece goes through rigorous quality control and dimensional accuracy. Most commonly applied in Houston‘s chemical processing, oil & gas, and water treatment industries, these forged fittings provide better performance in high-pressure, high-temperature, and corrosive service with immediate availability from local stock.

Stainless Steel 316 has ~16–18% chromium, ~10–14% nickel, ~2–3% molybdenum; 316L has up to 0.03% carbon for greater weldability. Standard mechanical properties are yield strength ~30 ksi (205 MPa), tensile strength ~75 ksi (515 MPa), and elongation ~40%. Molybdenum addition improves resistance to chlorides, pitting, and crevice corrosion. 316L‘s low carbon helps reduce carbide precipitation during welding, retaining corrosion resistance in the welded areas.

316/316L forged fittings are critical in piping systems where there is saltwater exposure, acids, and aggressive chemicals. Examples of common uses involve marine hardware, pharmaceutical process equipment, petrochemical pipelines, and food-grade fluid systems. 316L finds specific use in welded assemblies with high corrosion resistance requirements without the need for post-weld annealing. It is also used in heat exchanger systems and pulp & paper industries. In the Houston area, Harry Fittings’ 316/316L forged fittings serve offshore platforms, chemical plants, and desalination plants demanding strength in pressure, temperature, and corrosive environments.
